Pioneer CDJ500

I have been offered an old pair of these for £250.

Does anyone here have experience with these cd decks?

If so, how good are they for actual beat mixing? And are they similar to the newer pioneer cd decks, i.e. if I can learn to mix cd's using the 500's will i be able to mix on the 1000's etc?

Any info about these turntables will be a big help!

i have a 500II and it still works fine.

the jog wheel is a bit sensitive but once you get used to it you should be ok.

i use it in conjunction with a 1000mk2 and have no problems going back and forth.

once you learn on one pioneer deck adjusting to another model isn't that hard in my opinion.

Sure you can, but if you run into an 800/1000 you might feel more comfortable turning the vinyl mode off (it will most likely be on) and it will work in cdj mode exactly the same as the 500.
