March 20th 2005 After 4 continuous years on air, RUSH is going to take a break from April 2nd 2005. Nova 969 has decided to rest the show for the foreseeable future. It has not been decided what will replace RUSH at the time of writing. Nova has been brave in allowing a show that genuinely ‘sounds different’ to be part of their Saturday night schedule for the past 4 years, and we thank them for that privilege. They are great people to work with. We are sure that Nova will be delighted to hear from any listeners wishing to pass on their comments about RUSH. As always will will be broadcasting/ Streaming LIVE from the club. RUSH presenter, Tom Brown says “Its been fantastic compiling and presenting RUSH for the past 4 years. Very much a labour of love for me. I’d like to think we have delivered some great upfront radio…certainly in a style that sounds different to anything else on Australian radio, (in true Nova tradition). I hope though that we will be able to deliver RUSH in some other way at some other time in the future. It has been a strong associate brand of Nova and has introduced a lot of new listeners to the station. I’m sure that whatever replaces RUSH on Nova 969s Saturday nights will be great radio. I want to thank everybody for listening, especially to all our regulars. I hope we have in some way made Saturday nights a worthwhile listen with our different style of presentation and music. Special thanks go to Cameron O’Shea, Mehran Rowshanzadeh and Adam White, our 3 resident DJs” RUSH has been part of the Nova 969 Saturday night schedule since launch day on April 1st 2001. In the four years that RUSH has been on air, the show has broadcast live from Ibiza 3 years running, hosted over 50 live outside broadcast events in Sydney, supported new and existing local DJ and national talent, uncovered new Australian DJs and producers via its listener mix segment, released 2 double CDs, built a regular online following and has been involved in many Australian events and tours by the worlds top DJs. We’d like to thank all our listeners, both regular and casual, without whom none of this would mean anything. Id personally like to thank the TA community for al lthe support over the years, especially with our ibiza broadcasts and recordings.
