Sorry man but from the sounds of it, if its only happening in the one location, its not your needles or decks or anything, it is the actual record, and if so, I don't think anything can be done unless its just some dirt or something, I take it you tried cleaning it, if not, some compressed air should do a good job, works for me now and then.

so this compressed air... do you use the one you buy in a bottle... or one of those industrial ones at low psi... the reason why i ask is i want to know roughly how much pressure i should be using to 'clean' out the vinyl... that static sound is so annoying!!!

One of the ways to avoid it is to stop touching the cut part of the vinyl. I always touch either the edge, or the inside edge along with label. 'Cause more times you touch those dark areas of the record, louder and more noticeable will be those pops and cracks appear during the breakdown.

I just use the cans of compressed air from the local shops, there not strong enough to do damage, but good enough to blow some crap away.

yeah i am actually quite a stickler about that... even when my friends are over... i am quick to say no... don't touch the cut section... edge or center only

but this is a new vinyl

kinda frustrating... its such a good melody

More than likely the actual vinyl, I have had this problem before.

Does the flipside have the same problem?

Give it a clean if that don't work get a replacement from where you bought it from, tell them the problem and they will surely replace it.
