The Most Influental Artists of All Time

Lets make a good thread out if this. I'm doing this as research for something that I will later write about. Put musicians, artists, djs, producers, preformers, or anyone who has left a big mark on music as a whole. Pop icons are valid, but lets stick to "good" music or "quality" music.

My list so far:

Elvis Presley
Jim Morrison
Jimmy Hendrix
John Lennon
Bob Marley
Bob Dylan
Roger Waters
David Gilmour
Elton John
The Paliament
B.B. King
Ray Charles
Stevie Wonder
The Temptations
The Supremes
Aretha Franklin
Diana Ross
Johnny Stulic [native to my country of birth]
Kurt Cobain
Grandmaster Flash
Eric B.
Rakim
Rick Ruben
Guru
Dj Premier
Chuck D
Christopher "The Notorious B.I.G" Wallace
Tupac Amaru Shakur
The Roots
Kraftwerk
Juan Atkins
Derrick May
Kevin Saunderson
Paul Oakenfold
Sasha
Charlie May
Moby

Keep it going.

Consider these questions: What contributions have they made? How poetic they were if they wrote lyrcs? Quality in their work? Consistency? Preforming live? Following their heart or pop music trends?

Please expand. Thanks.

quick edit:
KRS-One
Kool Mo Dee
Metallica
Black Sabbath

James Brown and James Brown's band. Pretty much invented the breakbeat and the foundation to all rap and dance music today.
Michael Jackson

i like all the electronica people of course, but i wouldn't put some of them on that list...in the scale of things that haven't been even close to as influential as some of those people on the list...

yeah kraftwerk without a doubt, oakie probably, sasha maybe
but moby i really dunno
i mean are we going for most popular or most influential?
cause i don't feel like moby's influenced that much, besides just getting more commercial electronica acts deals in car commercials

Wow! I left out Queen! Freddy fuckin Mercury. Damn, i can't believe i did that.

As for the EDM comment, Kraftwerk started it all. Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson took the Kraftwerk sounds and started mixin' it with funk. This eventually created house music and it lead to techno.

Moby. Longevity. Creativity and preforming. He's actually quite a genius. I have to check his latest album.. some aruge it is quite weak.

Oakenfold? Produced some of Madonna's finest works. Worked as a excellent DJ for many years. One of the founders of the club scene in Ibiza. Many classic mixes as well. Did lots for a genre. He has slipped last couple of years, but Creamfields was strong.

Without Axel Rose and the importance of hair metal (where do these names come from, by the way!?), Kurt Cobain wouldn't have made it to the list, with his counter movement. Besides, his impact on the 80's cannot be measured, I reckon.
