Too bad it's not open sourced. Or else we'll be seing versions that disable store theft tags. Those things are annoying when the clerk forgets to deactivate it that set off the alarm.

Tesco UK (huge supermarket chain) are trying to introduce them in europe....but there is major opposition....and they havent done it yet....but they will....just give it time
