ooh, i have a weird story of that nature...
when i was living in japan, my mom would send me articles and stuff from the paper if there was a story about my old school or something interesting...and one day she sent me this article about this group of guys from UF (Univ. of Florida in Gainseville) being charged with murder. they beat this drug dealer guy to death...the guy was a scumbag, but still he had a wife and kids and it was just like this whole deal gone bad or something.
anyway, the ring leader was Lee Jupiter, and the hair on the back of my neck stood up when i saw his mugshot picture/name because i had this friend Derek Jupiter in elementary school who had 2 older brothers Sean & Lee Jupiter and they all had jet black hair with blue eyes...very exotic looking. So i was POSITIVE that this was the Lee Jupiter that i used to have the BIGGEST crush on. i would go play on derek's trampoline and go to his house just so i could see his big brother. hahah i was like 11.
anyway, so yea his brother ended up being some piece of shit druggie and killed that guy and is doing life now.
the weird part is that after i got back from japan, i was a senior in high school and out of the blue one day derek calls me. he ran into a mutual friend and found out that i was i was living in the area and wanted to hang out. it was weird because i wasn't even that close with derek back then...i mean i would go to his house n stuff, but i lost touch with him after 5th grade, so i thought it was weird that he was so eager to talk to me. he had called me 3 times i wasn't calling him back but he kept calling, so finally i called back. i guess i was scared to see him cuz i knew about his brother.
so anyway, we hung out a few times, and i could tell that he was a wreck. he was living w/ his mom and he said his parents got divorced and that his mom was miserable, bla bla. he was just venting to me a lot and telling me how his mom has to go to gainseville every month to go see his brother who was "sick". it was soo eery cuz like i bet he thought i had NO CLUE about it, since i was in japan, but i did know cuz my mom sent me the article.
so one night he was venting to me again and i could tell that he wanted to tell me about it but was scared so i just looked at him and i was like, "derek i know about your brother". he was shocked but i told him the story.
we kinda stopped talking, but he was really f'd up over it i felt so bad.

yeah, i mean it is weird how things happen, this guy was a total mess tho, his older brother was nothing like him, the lil one nicked things (once nicked my brothers mountain bike) and apparently got hooked on heroin at 14, and on the night in question was 'on drink & ecstasy' but it still does feel weird knowing that people you've seen, played footy with etc have turned out like this

how bad attempted murder was it?
my uncle is in court soon for attempting to run down the guy his wife was cheating with |
He said: "What you, (removed names), did was knock this man to the ground and kick him again and again to his head — which was already bleeding — splattering his blood around the area outside his own home, breaking his facial bones, breaking his ribs.
"A brave and courageous 13-year-old girl witnessed this attack, she went outside and the defendants, cowards that they are, ran off."
Mr Iles had said Mr ** was taken intensive care where doctors considered his injuries to be "life threatening".
The attack happened outside his home in Buckingham Court, Winshill, on October 2, after Mr ** had been asked to leave the Jubilee pub because he was drunk and falling asleep. The defendants had spent the day drinking and taking the drug Ecstasy. They launched a "gratuitous attack" on Mr **, then came back and began a much more ferocious assault.
