good startout cdjs and mixer(questions)

basically what the topic says? I am looking for some good, not incredibly expensive, maybe 2-300 each, cdjs.
Also interested in what a good cheap mixer lookin at around 4-500 dollars on mixer. Thanks on any advice.
Also do you think a dj starting out now would be better off starting digital or with vinyl?

For your price range, I reckon go for the Denon DNS-4000 Dual CD Player ($600 at topdecks.com)
-0.1% pitch accuracy
-Looping
-Hot Starts
-Pitch bend buttons in addition to a jog wheel

or you can go for the more expensive Pioneer CMX-1000 Dual CD Player for these additional features:
-0.5% pitch accuracy (as good as the CDJ-800)
-A limited scratch effect, so you can at least backspin on them if -Wave display

IMO, stay away from the Pioneer CDJ-100s, their very basic and overpriced, and you'll outgrow them very quickly and have to upgrade again. At least with these dual players, you can do loops, hot starts etc should keep you entertained for longer, plus they got the pitch bend buttons which are VERY handy (jog wheel suck for correcting songs!) If your deadset on going for single units, your options other than the CDJ-100 are the CDJ-200, the denon DNS-1000, the vestax CDX-05, or numark Axis 9 but i think they would be well out of your price range.

Both of the dual units I mentioned before are quality, so its not like your buying bottom-of-the-range cheap dodgy equipment. If you can afford it, go for the Pioneer CMX-3000 over the denon, seeing as the pitch resolution is 0.05% over the denon's 0.1% - lots more adjusting needed while your mixing trance/dance with 0.1%.

As for a mixer? Easy choice - go for the Numark DXM06
-2 channel mixer
-Effects (6 or 12 of them I think)
-Much better quality than other 2 channel non-battle mixers like the pioneer mixers
-Cheap, excellent value for money

If I could start out again that would be the setup I'd get. Good luck mate!

4-500 is probably mid-range for a mixer and you can get a pretty nice one for that price. The Pioneer DJM-500 is around $500. The vestax pcv275 is around 300 and is also a great mixer. As bent said, the numark is also a good pick and its alot cheaper too!

I would reccomend the DXM-06 also. Good mixer for the price.

For CDJ's I would reccomend the CDJ-200's. Brand new and round $399. Hands down it's the best non-scratch CD player.

this mixer is top notch, cant go wrong with this very reliable mixer. it has everything you need, even that it does not look it.

Well over here in Australia the CMX3000 is about $1200, and the not-yet-released CDJ-200s would be about $700-800 each, but if you can afford it go with the CDJ-200s - 0.02% pitch resolution.

Not sure if the CMX3000 plays mp3s though but can't you just burn your music to CD to play instead?

CDJ-200s are the way to go. if you want vinyl emulation though, i recommend the CDJ-800. it's a prior release to the 200, similar in price, has +/-0.05% pitch increments, unfortunately, but very nice vinyl emulation, same as the 1000.

the pioneer line is basically standard in clubs, so i'd go with it.

No no no

denon 4000 is utter rubbish
get the denon 2600 or the pioneer cmx 3000 if you want a twin one.
