My biggest problem as a DJ (AKA I Wish I was James Holden)

I've been spinning records for a while now, mostly trance/progressive/house, and I've realized my biggest frustration in as a DJ is that I purchased James Holden's Balance 005...

Allow me to elaborate...

I've recently purchased Petter's "Tone Diary" and the MFA's "The Difference it Makes," probably my two favorite tracks out there, but have realized I have absolutely no other tracks to mix with these two...

Does anyone else have this kind of problem? I also seem to run into it when I spin tracks that Hernan throws...

Jesus, maybe this is just a late night, I'm a little ripped and thinking about this too much, but damn do I want to spin that MFA track into a set...

yeah definetely the hardest part of Dj'ing it's to create your own style so maybe you're in this part of Dj'ing.. I mean not to spin a bunch of tracks of the same genre, if not to be recognized for your own music style like Holden, Duriez, Cox..

p.d. Try to see Holden's charts / tracklists and see how he spins those tracks.

try mixing ABITC with Nu NRG . But yea, I am sure lots of people have this problem, since most people buy what they like and may not "sound" good together. As your collection expands though, you will notice it gets easier to mix most tracks.

exactly! as time goes by and your collection grows you'll find more and more songs that have some sort of link to eachother and you'll be able to play all types of sub-genres in your sets with a good flow
