TORONTO (CP) _ The union representing some 5,500 employees at the
Liquor Control Board of Ontario is conducting strike votes across the
province.
In the first round of voting held Sunday, the Ontario Liquor Boards
Employees' Union says members voted 94.7 per cent in support of strike
action to support contract demands.
Voting is being conducted through the week at almost 30 locations
across the province. The union was unable to say how many employees
took part in Sunday's vote.
The union said it expects to announce the final result of the strike
vote on March 19.
The current collective agreement expires on March 31 and the union
could be in a legal position to strike as early as mid-April.
