Introducing PSY Trance

Hi TAs

Last saturday i went to my local rave with John OO Flemming... After exploring bout him.. i know he will spin PSY Trance..

But i was suprise.. his PSY sound more like Hard/Tech Trance.. but i knew it is PSY.. the FX & the dark moody pad.. Im not a PSY lover, but after hearing it from him I Love it... but the hard type PSY...*hope im right*

Now i am confused.. how many type of PSY are there?? After listening to his gig, i dont really now what element does PSY use...

So is there any PSY addicts here to explain??

Thanks alot guys!

you'd probly like stuff by Astrix, Vibrasphere, Midi Miliz, Human Blue, etc.

Also Freq, and Vibrasphere for that matter, incline more towards Prog-Psy, which J00f spins as well in the beginning of his sets as a rule.

Some of the psy artists j00f spins a lot include
Tegma
FreQ
Electric Universe
Astrix

usually a mixture of prog. house and/or prog. trance with various psy elements...like duh!!

The BPM is by and large faster than prog. trance and slower than Psy Trance.

its has constant psyacadelic and strange sounds and quite eerie...which gives the track a strange atmosphere....sometimes those sounds are frogs or barking dogs and crying babies......or acid and 303 sounds....cant really describe it.....less melodies.....and more darker and faster beat

good example is Kuisma imo, lot of psy-influences

@ Absolut_Vodka: Think you can call Boris Blenn's latest album full-on, John 00 played The Prayer alot, same for artists as Astrix they evolved to the more full-on part of the psy/goa genre, at least in 2004.
