plush is rather far from the airport, its in downtown, so if you're staying in downtown you should be ok. there are a few hostels in the area where you can stay for cheaper, but if you're willing to pay more, there's always the typical hotels. to be honest, i cant tell you much about those. but if you go to maps.google.ca you can do a search by category i believe and get an idea of whats around. maybe someone else here may have more knowledge in that area.
as far as i know, nightlife in nanaimo isnt very developed. trance/house-wise, most likely inexistent heh. i would say the above and beyond/bt event is the only major trance event happening that weekend. but there are also a number of clubs in the city that have regular house nights. check this thread http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=277430 it has info on some of the good house nights in the city. red-room on saturdays seems to be a good bet. as well as lotus lounge. on fridays there's club 23. etc...
