For the World (80s/Enigma stylish)

lo all

played around with some vocals and ended up in a song which reminds me alot of older enigma stuff with some 80s influence and I must say I'm really happy with this production and really wanted to share it with you for your opinions in exchange eventhough its not trance I think its appropiate to post it here

It's only 3:29 and 5.8MB
can be found HERE

Have a nice weekend

Hey. Enigma was pretty influential for a lot of early trance producers so this should be good.

-Slightly out of tune vokes but good no less. (who did your vokes?!)
-The reverb over the percs is very fitting.
-Decent drum loop too.
-Good synth work but its too loud and overcasting at some points. Back it off a little so that it isnt covering up the most important part of the track, the vokes. Vokes should always be the center piece of a vocal track.
-Too short but good for a demo.

Overall, not bad at all. The vocals and synth work are, for the most part, pleasing to the ears throughout the track. Some EQing and a better mixdown could and would do this track wonders. You might speed the track up a little, to a more progressive trance speed (130-140). The vocals in this track remind me a lot of A&B pres. Tranquility Base - Surrender. If you could add in some more modern trance elements, this track, with the addedness of the vocals could be golden. Keep working on it. I'll be interested in hearing how you progress with it .
Grade A (style applies to genre)

Cheers,
Zac

I agree with Sword. The vox are a bit off key. This doesn't sound too Enigma"ish" to me....still not a slight against your song though. There is that icey pad synth that sounds like your tune is breaking up. Ruins it IMO.
The vox are cool. So is your beat. Good job there. Nice piano. Very chilly piece. I think she says "Gimme just a smile" way too much.

I'm liking this - but it's very bright. Is that ring modulation on the pads?

If this were my track, I'd pull the treble back a bit on the pads and voice and ease up on the overall reverb (as nice as it is). Maybe pass the voice through a pitch corrector to make it more accurate.

Good job. I like it a lot.

Thanks alot for all your comments guys

Have updated the song, the URL is the same as the link on first post
New length is 5:32 and size 9.1MB

some of the changes I did was
- finetuning the vocals (mostly the nanana who was apperantly pretty off key)
- "give me just a smile" does not appear as often anymore. Thanks Digitalaura
- EQ'ed the icey pad separatly to make it not as bright as before
- higher volume on vocals, and lower the pad

should be a little better now, I agree on all points made in the thread and tried to improve it all, EQ'ing isnt my strong side tho

oh btw darksword, the song is 130 BPM
