This is my sad report about Tiësto’s 1st gig in Portugal…
When I heard that Tiësto would come to Portugal I almost could not believe that he was coming here! Being a Tiësto fan from several years it was really a huge surprise!
I bought my ticket for the event (Olá Love 2 Dance) several weeks ago… and finally tonight was the big day “night” (I thought)! The party should start at 22 and end at 8 am… I reached there around midnight and then I had a shocking sight... two hours after the party started there were thousands and thousands of people waiting just to enter in a messy row in which almost nobody knew if they were in the right place to enter or not…. The organization didn’t tell anything (or did not want to inform) about the alignment of the DJ’s. Tiësto will perform at what time? I dunno, said someone from the organization… All big events like Sensation and so on people know and it is public when artists will perform. In this case there was no information at all. I and many people thought that Tiësto would perform at the end of the night… but it was just a guess.
I stood in that row for about one hour and I only moved forward a few meters. Then I decided (and many persons also) to sell my ticket cause I didn’t know how many hours I had to stand there just to enter… How can a event like this with around 20.000 people have only one access door??? Actually there were two, one for VIP and one for public. This means that in reality there was only one. With 30 euros per ticket this is absolutely shocking for me. I will never go to an event like this one here in Portugal again. If I wanna see Tiësto, Avb… Pvd I will go to Holland or UK… Ibiza and I will have proper conditions. This is one more evidence of the state of the country in which I unfortunately live… people only want to get money and the final result is this one. I feel angry, sad… dunno… I will see Tiësto live one day for sure… but not here!
Greetings from Portugal,
Tiago Marques

That sucks. First time! Damn.... The same happened to me in Miami at Space past WMC. I couldn't get it. I was standing in line for about 2 hours at 5 in the morning and then i just left. It was a lesson for me.

I had an ALMOST similar experience when i saw tiesto for the first time.
he was playing in a big convention centre in peru and none of has had id cuz we were all like 14, 15, so we ended up getting in anyways, but no one told us when tijs was playing but it didnt matter cuz the opening djs kicked so much ass!
fianlly left the party at 4:30 AM and went to school the next day!

I know Pavilhão Atlântico is massive because I was in there for Expo '98 and I would assume they had better entry into the place for an event like this.
Going to the website I see Ola sponsored it? You should try contacting someone there and letting them know about this so they fix it for the next party... That's not fair to you.
Are most electronica gigs like that in Portugal? I never got the chance to go to any big parties there - but at least there was good trance on the radio late at night, lol.
