Making a website

I was thinking about making a website for myself for DJ promotion in the near future, and I have a bit of experience with HTML code and all that. Do you guys who are DJs and have your own webpages hire web designers or make your own sites from scratch? If you do it from scratch, where would be the best place to go to get webspace and all that? Any help would be appreciated

its all about connections...

http://www.nicholas-t.com/

im currently working on my personal dj site, not much lately tho... been busy with track and school. i paid the coder $15 to slice it and i did the design my self. now i have to find another coder to finish it up. its not that hard really...

as for webspace, u might want a domain first.

Just Make sure you write a biography about yourself from a third person point of view.

Then you should be good to go.

my host (www.globat.com) gives 5gb space, 70gb traffic per month (that means more than 1000 downloads of a one hour set ), 5000 emails, unlimited ftp accounts, for 65 euros for the first year, i'm satisfied with it, and if you refer 3 persons to them you'll get one year for free....if you want to be the second person for me pm me :P

www.canaca.com has cheap hosting, sometimes the servers can be a little testy, but I have had good luck with them, I got over 2300 downloads of a mix I did in january and it only used half of my 400gigs of bandwidth...

Not to mention the immense amounts of server space you get, I have 20gigs.

fuck!!! 400g's, thats a dedicated T1! how much are you paying?
