What antivirus do you use?
Let me ask a straight question:
What antivirus do you use?
Naturally, cracked of course.
I've tried nearly all of the ones available, and
here's my conclusion:
Kaspersky Antivirus,
F-Prot and
AVG (Antiviral Toolkit Pro - aka Dr.Salmon)
wins.
The absolute looser is Symmantec Norton Antivirus/Internet Security 200x.
Due to:
* bloated software
* slow scanning
* terrible at REMOVING the viruses it detects
* too damn stupid
* slow's the whole machine down

I got AVG by recommendation of a housemate, after I got a virus on my computer. Downloaded the free version and then bought Pro 7.0 the following day.
I don't know much about anti-virus packages but this seems very smooth and free of interruptions compared with McAfee and Norton which we have had at home which slowed our computers down like hell

I use Norton anti-virius, never had a problem of what you describe. I use zone alarm as a firewall.
