one thing that i've noticed about music over the last few years is that the standards are getting higher.

No longer can somebody submit an album if it sounds like an early 90's techno album with cliché 404s. Seems like music is getting harder to make because we have to throw in all sorts of brilliant sounds due to all of these artists that like to push the envelope.

I can argue it it the opposite direction.. I would agree that the technology and quantity is increasing but in noway is the quallity increasing....

yup

I feel quality is not increasing at all.I do agree that its making it harder on us tho becuase the fact that i grew up listening to that stuff and its what i like and listen to (early 90's stuff)

For example i would rather lay down a post 90's breaks than anything thats going on today.

but sadly you gotta stick with the times if u wanna make money.

personaly if i could write 70's and 80's style tunes i would do it in a heart beat.

I love the sound of daftpunks discovery.it was total 70's

it would be nice to hear stuff like (fat of the land and vegas again)

even back in 2000 and 99 the stuff on the tranceport album was kool oakenfold did.

i loved fragmas tocame ( the miracle version sucked withthe vocals)

and i also liked adiago for strings and stuff and the old atb stuff and mike koglins the silence

i listen to mikes stuff now and it seems over produced.

ohh well not like this post will change anything lol.

well yo both have stated true things there is some quality in the music u just have to find it. Just like all our productions have the 90s flare about them but captured with the 05 sound. But music is an ever evloving art form so of course its gona change to fit each new generation thats how come musics been around for so long.

I know but i wish i could take all my 2005 gear and bring it back in a timemachine to the year 1980 and warp some minds lol.

wouldnt that be nuts performing live at a highschool dance in 1970 with a pc and some new synths and drummachines lmao that would make a great movie

well anthony rother still uses very raw sounds but they sound good.
if you step away from trance you find a lot of "old stuff" getting released

There's so much garbage out there being released, it's not even funny. I'm starting to listen to old trance. Even mainstream big trance artists are releasing garbage. I can't stand it...WTF is going on?

I am the only person in the world who believes quality is increasing

if we look in the past, we forget all those weak productions and we remember the few good ones. In 2015, when we look back to 2005 we will also say 2005 was a quality trance year, because we will remember those few good tracks...

If i create a list of the quality trance of 1998 for example, i will get no further than 10 tunes.
