Forever Today Strings (a how to maybe)
Hello
I thought of making myself a remix of Forever Today with the same intro as Tiesto has and some piano improvizing and so on...
anyway here's the problem...how did Tiesto get his strings sound so good? or are they live recorded? anyway my try from Reason: I realized that there's propably the most work on the envelope of the sounds...
I'm still thinking if anyone could give me a hint? ... yo and I am software based ... so please don't tell me which hardware synth can do it I'm looking for a software way
Though I believe my try sounds quite ok, I believe someone can come up with something better...so?
yeah, i know i tried this monthes ago. i couldn't figure out whether the low end of it was percussion or a bass. i remember noticing how sharply i changed the envelopes on the strings according to that bass/percussion. when i get off work i'll see if i can dig it up

BshidoHEAT: Thanks, I made it in Reason 2.5 with only the Factory bank sounds...
DJ: I believe it's a bass...just has sometimes different envelope...like those booooms you know what I mean any advice will be welcome...thanks mate
naaa, it's not an orchestra! We can hear it! it's not very "deep".
And the volume variation sounds it was made with the hand.
If you want to make a sound like this, use somee plugin like Edirol Orchestral.
And if you want to hear what you can do with the one, d/l my synthetic melody part 1, 2 or 3.
And if you want to hear my remix of Forever Today, go on website

Hey. Not suggesting that Tiesto used it but with some EQing and mastering, you could do that exact same thing and very convincingly with Edirol Orchestral. Very easy to use and powerful plugin. If you want to shell out for it, the best right now is EW/QL Symphonic Orchestra. Basicly it comes with a custom version of NI Kontakt and it sounds as real as you can get right now.
Hey. I just posted the link to the fullest package. Yes, $3K is a lot of money but quality, as we all know, comes at a cost . They make tons of other realyl awesome sample cds and many of them come with a custom version of Kontakt geered to make using thier samples easier. In relation to this post, they make three versions of Symphonic Orchestra:
Platinum (comes with all samples including surround channels)
- $2995
Gold (cuts out surround quality samples [stereo only])
- $500
Silver (cuts out a lot of the articulation [velocity sensitive] samples and surround channels)
- $200
