Question Any chance of moving to Canada now?

I doubt this, but I like to know:

I haven't worked in the last 2 years, don't have (the required) 10'000+ CAD, nor have any current job offers in Canada (perhaps due to my US resumé/CV) right now. Are my chances of moving to Canada this June now non-existant? Is it just a pipe-dream? That's what I believe it is now, as I heard that applying to immigrate there will take at least 6 months to 5 YEARS and costs at least 15'000 CAD. Those who've moved there, what was your process? How much does a single 20-year-old usually need to successfully need to 'make it' there? How easy is it to find work after arrival there now in the IT industry?

I know I will most likely get flame responses or posts like 'WTF?'. I'd rather not hear it and see real responses...

Peace...

I live there.

Where are you planning on going?

Its pretty expensive to live in Vancouver. I moved here from the interior of BC, and the living costs are so much higher...

Tell them you're an american refugee.

Considering what Bush has done, they might go for it kekeke

Seriously though, uh, I haven't checked up on immigration laws for a while so I am not going to comment on it (I don't talk about stuff I don't know, I only talk when I'm sure or at least 1/2 sure with a warning, just me).

working in the IT world with little experience (you're 20) is hard

Why don't you come to study? Get a diploma and mingle with the market for a job...

Its hard to move from a place to another without money, let alone changing countries alltogether.

I heard Vancouver is rather dear to live, but I bet it's very nice too. 100 K CAD minimum to live there, eh? I plan to go to either GTA or Montreal, but would prefer Montreal. (Looking for something different and I'd rather be in a more 'foreign' place)

(Yes, for the record, I'm sick of the US gov't and and shocked at why hardly anyone tried to take out (asassinate) the president yet). His admin are morons. USA PATRIOT Act FFS.

Well, over the last 9 months or so, I've been continuously checking up and it seems that it's a whole lot harder to get in there than it was even in 1998. A whole new host of laws came out in the early to mid 2000s (now). I don't think you can even get an SIN without an official job offer at minimum!

OK. for the study part, I'm attending at Peirce College online & I don't think I can transfer out of the US because I'll have to pay for the whole tuition, right? I BET you can't get grants or loans if you're foreigner. If you can, how do I go about it and how long does it take? I'm already slated for my online classes for September at my current place.

If my memory serves me right, they just rescently passed relaxed immigration laws not even a month ago (before this whole Gomery inquiry blew up), so you might want to research it again.
