This man (Gerald Donald) was Dopplereffekt, Drexciya, LAM, Der zyklus, Arpanet, Japanese Telecom, Glass Domain, Intellitronic, Heinrich mueller among others. Man this guy is fucking new styled electro, and I'm not saying he started electro either, because he certainly didn't. All I'm saying is that he is good at it, and has done alot of good stuff, and its real electro.

you know i don't think anyone really thinks what sasha is playing is straight up electro...but i'm going to use the term to describe it if i want because its easier to say...and if people really think that sasha is inventing something new...he's not, but it is new and fun to listen to...

Sure, to an extent. Some would call it prog, or breakbeat, or house or whatever the fuck. I mean, discogs doesn't list it as electro, and discogs lists real electro as electro usually.

Assuming you can call it electro, its difficult to decide how much of the production you can actually credit to sasha himself.

If you want to call this "electro" then Felix Da Housecat (among other lesser known names) was making, and playing this sort of proggy breakbeaty housey electro in a mainstream environment long before sasha was.

im not arguing with that but Ride was an electro track he made together with BT, clearly Electro breaks IMO... the stuff hes playing now i can care less about... everybody in EDM wants to throw in some electro influenced style to their tracks nowadays... whatever tho, the whole 80s thing is HUGE since couple years back.. fashion, music, the whole world has gone 80s retro crazy... look how many 80s newave/synth pop shit is being remade and the NEW productions that sound like its been made in the 80s....
