hehe...

I read a post simaler to this in a newsgroup.. however the other person who mentioned this said it sounded like pop version (pop=mainstream.. doh). Funny you said you heard it in a KFC... this guy said he heard it in a Taco Bell. lol

Some reply said this was not wierd at all. Apparently it was PVD that actually licensed the vocal samples from some singer named "Jessica" (didn't know the last name), and the original version was actually a pop tune (!)

so no, it was probably not a crap-remix of PVD's track but the original pop-crap version.... i gotta hear that one for myself!

I sure hope it wasn't Jessica Folker Heh, it's really sad when quality tunes get fucked to "please" the mainstream. Then some people come up to you and say, "hey, didn't you say that you like PvD, man, this song sucks, how can you like it?" haha, then go on about explaining that gees this isn't his normal style.

Hello!

HaHa funny that someone else has heard it in a public setting as well. A friend of mine was shopping at a mall and heard it being played in one of the stores. And the reason people heard it in Taco Bell as well as KFC is b/c they are the same company....up here in NJ they are acutally in the same store. But even PvD has been spinning a more vocal cut of we're alive in his sets...ie innercity set part 2. It's not as vocal as this "pop" version....but I like how it goes "we're alive, take a breath". He also spun it at Twilo last time and just my luck I was on the way to the bathroom when he mxed it in for about 2 seconds! And the club was packed as all heck....no way to make it back to the dance floor in time. But, I don't even understand why he's still spinning this track....it's been about a year since he introduced it to his set. But it's weird how PvD is becoming more mainstream over here...I remember seeing a cd single for "Tell Me Why" in a Sam Goody....that threw me!

It's a cover of Jennifer Brown "Alive" I think, I've heard this as well. Regarding PvD "We Are Alive" I think it is a very cheesy track and not the sort of thing PvD should be doing when you compare it to "Seven Ways"!

Hello! its funny that you mention that

Here in the 4 main places for music, which would be Streetside Records, Sam Goody, Musicland, and Hastings (said all the names because I'm wondering if you would have them wherever you are located) they have ALL KINDS of trance. Granted they are mostly trance compilations, but they have stuff like pvd, atb, sasha & digweed, taucher, seb fontaine. Maybe its because this genre is about to catch on, and K-State University (in Manhattan) was voted the trendiest campus in the nation just last year.

Hello!

Yeah I've noticed Sam Goody having a section of Trance...but like you said its usually compliation cd's. And usually huge names like the Ministry of Sound collection or something like Webster Hall.....or some cheesey compliation like the best of (insert genre of musik) mixed by dj so-and-so. I don't remember seeing any of Paul's albums....but I may have just missed them. But most of Sam Goody's stock is a lil on the dated side. I noticed they had the single of "Tell me Why" months after it was released. There are definetely better stores in NYC...like Satellite and the other vinyl shops to find imports much sooner. But I'm glad its getting easier to find trance here....just as long as it doesn't get too commercial! =) But, I think that might happen eventually.
