Madonna - Music vocal remix

Music - probably my favourite Madonna track of all. I had a good hard look for re-mixes of it, there were a few but not of the Trance variety.

So here's my first stab at it.

Download 96kbs MP3

If someone feels they can add something to this and would like to collab on it - let me know.

I highly doubt this is 96kbs!
Anyway ...
The track needs to be mastered,
I liked the stutters, however imo I think you should add some delay to the stutters to make them sound better... I really liked how you match the vocals with the breaks, it sounded neat!
wow the track is clipping!
Good synths!
Overall you did a prettu good job!
Cheers

ok, first i got to said that make a remix of a song you really like is very complicated!
i found some interesting things that i like in this version but i think that u got to be more selective with the echoes and delay in the vocals, too much in a few parts and in others works very fine like in the break at 4:38
i would like to hear it at full quality (let me know when it's finished!).
collaborate? imo this track is it's done! i only suggest (maybe) a longer intro.

saludos!!

My fave Madonna song too.

- pretty nice bass
- i like all the energy in the song
- breakbeat parts is well done but could use more variations
- the buildup is a too short and plain imo. to have more impact, have one of those long, buildups with like race car sfx or something.
- overall pretty nice, just keep working on it to make it more interesting, add some percs and sfx

There has to be an alternative to the tired old whooshing and swooshing. I was listening to some Oakenfold remixes and he avoids the over-use of that sort of stuff.

I think you might mean - The track needs to be mastered "Properly".

I've updated it having had a go with the Waves mastering suite, LinEQ and Liner Multiband followed by the L2. Although I'll probably die of old age before I work out how to use the LinMB - it's like trying to straighten out a tube of tootpaste.

hey dave,

quite standard percussion at the beginning, but nothing wrong with it, although, i miss a proper buildup from the beginning as eulerfx mentioned. The bassline is massive, mate, very good, i quite like how u used the vocals also, very cool. The breakbeat part is good, but try experimenting with it a bit, it's always good. I feel, the clap should have a bit more release on it. What i really miss from this production is an impressive string from the main part, which would glue the whole thing together, i think. Effects are cool, and well placed, good structure also.

good work, keep it up, mate!

Thanks Mycron. I can do middles, and ends but have real trouble with beginnings!

Nothing wrong with the buildup, i just mean, maybe somehow, it could be done better, to make some more drive to it, building on top of that massive bassline

I'm sure she'll learn to cope with that!

Nice at 3:15

Try less delay on the vocals around 3:35 - 4:10.. if it works, great. If not, that's okay too.

5:00 loving this gradual build. Fabulous.

5:13 awesome synth.

Now, your percussion is lacking, and your drums are a little light, but that's probably because your bassline is so thick. Consider brightening the percs around 8k, though it may just be the horrendously low quality of the mp3 (96). It might be the samples as well...

All in all, cool track. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
