Controvesial moments that settled the match

1. nesta hand ball - then milan break up the pitch and score their second.

2. schevchenko's disallowed goal which was perfectly legitimate.

3. The offside that the linesman flagged for but was never given, meaning liverpool retained possesion and were able to cross the ball for steven gerrard and liverpools first.

4. the penalty - there was no fuckin contact, gerard bottled taking responsibility so fell over as if he was tripped.

5. Peanlty shoot out - how fuckin far off his line did dudek come for the pirlo penallty.

The referee last night was a joke, i may sound bitter and all that but you know for a fact if milan had won 3-0 or 3-2 then liverpool fans would have brought it back to the nesta hand ball incident.

I still give the upmost respect to liverpool for what they done, but I just feel that milan outplayed them for 80% of the match and liverpool got a lot of luck.

Milan outplayed Liverpool 80 percent of the game?? They were no where to be seen in the 2nd half. As far as extra time goes, Liverpool were clearly playing for a penalties or a sucker punch counter attack with Cisse.

Gerrard bottled taking responsibility? I'm sure that's what is racing through his mind when he was charging down on the ball. Fact is he was clipped and it was a travesty that Gatusso was not sent off.

Don't recall "the offside that wasn't" but I do agree that Sheva's goal was legitimate. Not having a clear penalty called cancelled that out though. You cannot argue that had Sheva's goal stood Milan would have won 4-3. Time is non-linear and anything could have happened.

Either way, this is what football finals are all about and if there has to be some controversy to let it pan out like this, then so be it!

It was no worse than Dida 2 years ago at Old Trafford, he did the exact same thing to stop a shot. so now its even

POINT INVALID!!

the rule was not in force then so the keepers were perfectly within their right to come off the line.

Who gives a shit?!?!

Controversy is what makes football football.

Without them its not really worth watching.

I mean can u imagine every single fucking game, everyone goes

"hey, that was a fair game.Everything went well, no faults, and the winner truly deserved itEveryones happy."<- jesus christ, i dont ever
want it to be this way.

BTW, gatusso pulled gerrards shirt. the commentators saw it, I saw it among 500 other fans, and whats most important, the REFEREES SAW IT.

If somebody pulled my shirt inside the penalty box, i'd fall down too.

Dudek was quite a bit off his line for some of those penalties, perhaps they should have been retaken. The penalty decision during the game should have resulted in a red card for Gattuso, was he not deliberatly stopping a goal scoring opportunity? Did he even get booked for it? Still I think overall any team coming from 3-0 down at half time has to be given credit.

Thats lovely!!

But as a disappointed ac supporter (on the night) I am just pointing out FACTS. none of the above decisions were particularly hard to get right and if the ref had followed the rules to the letter - then the outcome (i'm sure) would have favoured milan.

As a disappointed fan, am I not allowed to reflect on what Might have been.

I began the game wanting Liverpool to win it but by extra time I really wanted Milan to win. For 110 minutes Milan completely taught Liverpool a footballing lesson, but the major decisions (and luck) went massively against them. I really felt sorry for them when Shevchenko missed twice from about 1 yard. Milan played some scintillating football and made i a great final to watch, Liverpool were playing for penalties in extra time. I don't blame Liverpool for their defensive approach, they would have been outclassed if they'd tried to play football but this was the reason I wanted Milan to get what they deserved which was victory. Liverpool showed tremendous courage and deserve respect for that, but Milan showed both tremendous courage and tremendous skill and can feel very hard done by because they had some massive decisions against them which turned the tide of a very one-sided game. It was an amazing comeback but could not have been achieved without those decisions. Two of Liverpool's goals were very controversial.

Nesta couldn't do anything about that handball, it was never a penalty as he was actively trying to move his arm away from the ball, in other words ball to arm.
