I think she's innocent. I hope she gets off or at least gets transferred to an Australian prison should she be found guilty. I certainly can't see her being executed in Indonesia.

If she is found guilty (hard to tell what's going on atm - this rapist who's testifying certainly shook things up a bit) then Alexander Downer needs to get off his fat, girly arse and make it clear that Australia isn't going to stand back and watch one of its citizens be put to death for a non-violent crime. Not that I would ever place any faith in Downer to do the right thing, of course, but if he was ever going to take a tough diplomatic stance, then this has got to be the time. The Indonesian president is coming out here shortly (might have even flown in today?) so I think we (as in the people and our politicians) need to make it clear that we do not support the death penalty for such crimes and that such a sentence will result in a severe souring of the relationship between the two countries. We need to protect our citizens and it's important that the government is seen to be doing this.

Also, just out of interest, how the fuck would you not feel (or see) 4.1kgs of marijuana in your bag?

well said Renegade, this government will only intervene in affairs which only seemingly affect the "national" interest. We bark how we are so tuff on terrorism and yet can't protect our own citizens from the death penalty for such a petty crime (in my mind anyways). Shame on you Howard and your pack of conservative assholes!
