Do you mean do we know people who took part in the invasion?
Or are you asking to hear individuals stories of what happened on the day?
My grandad who died before i was born was in the Desert Rats - 8th Amoured infantry. I think they took part in the invasion, but i know he also fought in Italy which was around the same period (Rome was liberated 2 days before d-day)

You mean Operation Barbarossa? I was thinking about doing a thread post on it's anniversary. Hopefully there will be some replies on that come the 22nd.

Not real stories, but I'm an advid fan of WW2 history. I watch the history channel frequentely and read plenty of Keegan, Ambrose, etc., so I've read my fair share of first hand accounts. If you want to see something a bit more commerical (but still very excellent), you can watch the HBO band of brothers series. Every episode is preceded by a first hand account from the soldiers who were actually there that the series attempts to portray.

Do you know what battlefront he was a part of (Moscow, Stalingrad, Kursk, etc.)?
