Hardstyle Reverse Bass's

How are these made? Is it a gabber style kick drum being reversed or actual bass timbres? or either?

Just looking for any advice on how to create these..

particularily bass's that sound like this......
http://www.hihouse.it/studio.htm <- put your mouse over the part where it says "kick and bass" on the lefthand side.

How do I make this sound? I'd like as much info as possible..like what type of effects to use...any help would be really appreciated!!

THX!

Trying hard to listen to the awful sound quality....that sounds like a simple offbeat bassline with some mean distortion over it.

You've got some of those on the vengeance sample cd. I don't think I could make one of those with pro53.

very simple to make...its not a reversed kick drum...just a kick-base-kick-base type thing.

Man I love that web site...I was making some crazy hardcore tunes for a few minutes.

Any specific advice on how to create this kind of bass timbre? And also how to create the reverse ones? Obviously reversing it...But I mean what type of envelope and amp settings should I use? And what type of processing? Distortion is probably a given...But what else are producers using these days?

I'm afraid you won't find the answer to your question here. I've been trying to find the answer to the same question for over a year and the truth is - nobody really seems to know how to achieve that sound; or if someone does, he/she just doesn't want to share the trade secret. People will tell you to use a reversed hardcore kick, use distortion, play around with envelopes, get a sampler, get a hardware synth, etc., but none of those tips will yield the result you're looking for. I think your best bet would be to either just sample that bass from another record, or contact a producer who actually knows how to create those hardstyle bass lines.

Here's a thread about the same topic from a while ago where I posted some samples of my favorite hardstyle bass sounds and two sounds I've worked on.

Hardstyle Thread

I pretty much gave up trying to find help with this particular challenge online. If you have more success, please let me know

But do try to contact some of the established hardstyle producers, maybe they'll share some of their secrets.

heres what i came up with its one of the most standard sounds used in the Hardstyle/ Hard Trance industry I know the ppl at Vegence use it, Scott Project Kai Tracid.

Hardstyle bass in 5 mins

I just revered a typical hardstyle gabber kick and took out the punchy part of the kick add some distortion reverb and played with a high pass filter and notch filter.

If you would like the sample plz feel free to pm me

That pretty much describes how it's done, or atleast how I know to do it. There is no reversing necessary, the reason it sounds reversed is because of the long attack, and short sustain and release. The technique can be applied to not only basses, but any synth sound to give it that reversed kind of feel. The key is getting the attack and decay just right so that the sound peaks on exactly the offbeat and drops off before the next kick. This is how the notes should be aligned on the piano roll.

K=kick
B=Bass note
b=where the bass sound will peak with the attack adjusted correctly

K---K---K---K---
B---B---B---B---
--b---b---b---b-

I'd whip a sample up right quick, but I don't have anywhere to host it. It's quite simple though once you know how to do it, it just takes a little patience. Just make sure your bass sound is real dirty. Cheers.

Edit: Nice sample Igloo. This kind of music isn't really my thing, but like always there are a lot of different ways you can come up with similar sounds.
