Sweep Effects???

hey guys, i want to know how you go about sweep effects (the effect that is commonly associated with breakdowns and buildups)

my question is, different songs may have this sweep effect last for 4 seconds, some even like 20-30seconds. i have a very small collection of some of these effects, but i'm wondering how to go about incorporating it with a song with the length you want??? if you want a 10second buildup sweep, and only have one that lasts 6 seconds. what could i do? i've tried time streching, but it takes away from the sound.

(on a side note, if anyone knows where i could find some more good buildup, breakdown effects, that would be appreciated).

thanks

Dont use sampled sweeps... make your own using your own VSTis...
automate the cutoffs and export to wav....

Use any VSTis you have... you can make sweeps with pretty much anything... thats presuming you dont use presets all the time and you know how to program your own sounds...

Albino 2 is one example that already has some great sweeps and effect presets... look out for that if u dont have it already

i just experimented with albino, and to my surprise, after some fiddling, i was able to create some cool sweeps!!! thats a lot for the tip onion!

one last question: i still have a hint of the 'synth' sound in the sweep though, any tip to completely get rid of that sound?

use a virtual analogue synth which has noise generator, put it through a bandpass filter, and automate the filter cutoff or link an lfo to it. or both. the sweep is served.
