lenin and the revolution

It is worrying to see the same old lies about Lenin and Bolshevism still being trotted out. First, how can you discuss Lenin and the Revoution without discussing Trotsky, co-author, repeat, CO-AUTHOR of the Revolution? It's like discussing Karl Marx apart from Engels or Abbott without Costello. Did you know that the Bolsheviks gave women the vote in 1917, several years before women got the vote in the U.S? Just one example of the marvelous reforms they implemented.

I beg all producers of programs to do with Marxism, Socialism, Communism (the last phase of Socialism), etc. to invite a Marxist on the panel next time. In fact, I don't see how you can call the panel balanced without one!

In the first place, I think the audience should be given a crash course in Marxism, which should point out its long-term nature. For example, Chou En Lai [sp?] was once asked what the result of the French Revolution was and replied, "It's too soon to tell." Get the picture?

Also, Trotsky's theory of Permanent Revolution could and should be briefly explained. The October Revolution was part of a larger effort internationally which thrives to this day to root out Capitalism and replace it with Socialism, a system that provides for human needs not human greed. People before profits. Apologies, I know that sounds like bumber sticker language. Nevertheless...

Perhaps the most important thing I think needs pointing out is this: what Lenin and Trotsky did between 1917 and 1924 and the work that Trotsky carried on until his assassination are the true representations of what I mean by Communism and Socialism, and the path to a worker's state. What Stalin did and preached was Stalinism. Lenin and Trotsky loathed him and would NEVER have willingly handed him the reins. Lenin died, Stalin prevailed and before you could say psycopath, he proceeded to pervert, twist, and utterly destroy real Socialism and Communism. (The real crime of the century.) What happened under him from 1924-1953 was STALINISM, not Communism and we deplore it just like everyone else. We say Stalin promoted a degenerated form of Communism called Stalinism and Maoism is a degenerated form of Stalinism. When I say "we", I mean people like myself. I am a member of Radical Women and a supporter of the Freedom Socialist Party. Lastly, the most important thing to understand is that what happened in 1991 was the fall of Stalinism, not Communism.

LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION!

I think the result is as apparent then as now. A nation of indecisive cowards racked with liberalism in their government. Bottom line is they are a threat to nobody other than themselves.
