Am I the only one who thinks this poker thing is nothing more than a fad?

^ i think thats pretty obvious. texas holdem just kinda popped up some years ago as the game of choice, and now everyones addicted, i must admit i like the game, becuase i have a really good stragegy and i've won quite a few times. but yeh, just like everything the big hype will go away.

Anyone in the poker world will say it is not a fad but I agree...it is. I have been playing for over 10 years so it is not a fad for me. One of the big reason's it has caught on in canada is the lack of Hockey....I know that sounds stupid but until hockey was cancelled poker was not on during prime time but was on at like 2 pm or 11 pm and usually it was only European tournies. Stations like TSN and Sportsnet needed something to fill the spaces hockey took up and they turned to poker.

My two fav are empirepoker.com and pokerincanada.com. The pokerincanada.com site is cool because they have different games that you don't see on other site. The tournies are not great but it is fun to play some of the other games.

i like to play on pokerroom.com. I don't play for money, just for fun.
Used to spend alot of time playing. Very addicting even though no money is involved.
