I cant fucking believe it

For anyone who has been following the story from here or anywhere around Europe, 2 young men's lives have now been ruined by some horrible scumbag rat who, I'm ashamed to say, comes from the same city as me.

MICHAEL SHIELDS, a lovely lad who has never been in trouble before, and is an engineering student here, has now ben wrongly convicted and given 15 years for a crime he is completely innocent of!

Another local lad who Michael had never met before Istanbul, Grahem Sankey, is now back here and has admitted he comitted the crime. After watching LFC win the European Cup in Istanbul, celebrations continued back in Varna, Bulgaria. However, after celebrations were getting a little out of hand near a chip shop, a Bulgarian waiter asked a group of lads to quiet down. They turned on the waiter and while he was on the floor, Grahem Sankey dropped a slab of conrete onto the head of the waiter. This horrible act disgusts me and I am shamed to come from the same city as these gutless animals. My thoughts are with the family of the victim

After this, local police raided local hotels looking for a scapegoat, using a loose description from a few witnesses. They grabbed Michael Shields from his bed in the early morning, and made him go through identity parades where he was made to wear a white shirt (which wasnt his), because that is what the witnesses said the attacker had been wearing. The rest of the identity lineup were instead given grey jumpers. Its no surprise he was picked out every time by the witnesses. he wasnt even charged with the crime for a month. He spent a whole day chained to a radiator with no food. All this for something that happened while he was asleep.

Graham Sankey, the horrible worthless dog, has not yet signed a proper full legal confession and will not consent to being trialled in a Bulgarian court for the horrible crime he has comitted, leaving a 25 yr old Bulgarian waiter scarred for life and unable to provide for his family, as well as leaving Michael Shields, an 18 yr old innocent, also with his whole life ahead of him, to rot in some 3rd world jail.

I understand the Bulgarian court not accepting the statement containing an admission, from Sankey's solicitor, as that holds no weight in a court of law. I also know they will not let Michael go without getting Sankey, so effectively they are holding an innocent boy hostage. INNOCENT.

Its now up to Sankey to do what he should have done the second a completely innocent lad was convicted, and agree to exrtradition to Bulgaria where he should rot in jail for 20 years.

Bulgaria should NOT be allowed into the EU any time soon. Gestapo police. 3rd world country - 3rd world rules.

Heres a link for anybody to send messages of support. Greatful for all of them! Once again, I send my sympathies to the family of Michael AND the real victim of all this, the Bulgarian Waiter. Once again the reputation of Britons abroad, and of Scousers, is dragged into the mud by a minority of horrible dogs.

I heard somewhere that Jack Straw has ordered some people to "start a dialogue" with the Bulgarians or something... I fear that no amount of political pressure will change this though.

The prosecution only asked for 10 years and the Judge gave Michael 15! That is 2 years more than the guy who murdered his wife, chopped her up, and was given THIRTEEN years, in the same Bulgarian courts earlier this year

Michael's family have been ordered to pay a £75,000 fine too (DOUBLE the current record Bulgarian fine). Another record is that this is the shortest trial in Bulgarian History. Totalling less than 24 hours or something rediculous. He never stood a chance.

I'm ashamed I breathe the same air as as this Sankey ****, I really am.

I will definatly sign the partition for Bulgaria never to join EU these Eastern Europe countries cause nothing but trouble.

My town has literally been taken over by Eastern Europeans, you join EU enjoy the economic benefits your own country will reap, and build upon it. Don't piss off over to other countries and overtake everywhere! This country seriously needs to question immagration again! and it's fucking Labour as usual!

for a guy whos been jailed for nothing, he seemed remarkably calm about it when interviewed by Sky. By all rights he should be pretty pissed towards Sankey to say the least, but he felt nothing...

I think he's just in shock, and by all accounts he's just such a nice lad, keeps himself to himself etc. He probably just knows letting it all get to him that much would send him mad, if I was him I'd try not to think about Sankey either I think!

This is a sad case, the thing that puzzles me is this bulgarian dude got a concrete slab dropped on his head and its left him with problems with doing activities etc, and he has problems with his brain a little bit atm, but he can remember 100% that the dude was Michael Shields? my presumption is if you had a concrete slab dropped on your head you wouldnt be able to remember every detail about your attacker apart from maybe a skinhead and an england shirt...

hope I make sense with this and I'm not just talking bollocks
