Danny Tenaglia @ Spirit-my review

What else can I say...the man killed it. I walked in at around 4am, and heard some pounding drums as i walked on the dancefloor. Bomb after bomb after bomb. every track he played. i left at around 11ish and he was still playing but winding it down a little. he played the final edit of "dibiza" and it's INSANE. i can't wait till it gets released. i wish i could have closed out but i got so tired i couldn't even stand. the beats are still pounding in my head right now.

DT IS THE MASTER!

First time seeing DT and im so glad the night worked out like it did (sorry Joey) We started at Sullivan room for the Groovanauts party and got our Victor Dinaire fix untill about 3:30. Got to Crobar around 4 and the list was closed and we didn't feel like spending $40 to get inso we left and went to Spirit. Got in on reduced and that was that. DT fucking killed it.....sick tribal drums, like Joel said.....BOMBS!!! The crowd was GREAT!!! Couldn't believe how much of a diffrence it was compared to Armin a few weeks ago. No cracked out looking weirdoes wondering around, no hair whipping asians......Everybody there was there for DT. He was only on the mic a few times throughout and was by any means annoying. That was my only fear of the night (ive heard some pretty bad stories about DT and the mic....prob the reason why I never went out of my way to see him) But it turned out to be one of the best nights out this summer so far. Great seeing the whole crew there.....Joel, Ekta, Indy, Ruben, Ronnie, Melony, Jonathan, Amanda, Brian(kidnyce) and of course Brianna and Joey. We rocked it out till about 10:30 and called it quits....was hard to even stand at that point....I don't know how the hell DT can play these marathon sets completely sober.

i cant believe he played washing machine...it sounded great on that system.

the best part of the night is when he got on the mic and started talking about how he was just in Ibiza and was finishing his new track with chus and ceballos. and he goes "it sounds a little something like this" and played "Dibiza" for like a second and teased the crowd for a few min playing the parts that he had just added (just a few more elements). Then finally dropped it.

it was great to hear "island breeze" and his remix of "finally". i haven't heard him play those tracks since he closed arc.

Yeah that was sick.....in all seriousness I am a firm believer in DT now. Guess I had to see it for myself. His programming is SICK and the way he teases you will bits and pieces of a track throughout the night and then finally drops it is insane. You don't see Tiesto and AVB pulling stunts like that!!! BTW how is work Joel???.....we are more dead than John Bobbit's decapitated penis. ok that was gross....but funny

it was great seeing danny again on saturday morning. i hadn't seen him spin since Miami and he was better than i've heard him in a while. i'm sure others will disagree but he was just the way i like it and i was so happy we decided to go.

brian was right about the crowd. they were great! there was such a vibe and such a feeling of comradery. the feeling was totally reminiscent of the arc days.

lots of great tracks throughout the night...even some interesting remix of Orbital - Halcyon [i think] that i really loved. and, of course, washing machine! god knows i was THRILLED when that came on.

it was so nice to see some of the old crew from arc and to dance it out with my buddies. joey, thanks for coming and actually having some fun! Amanda and Jonathan, it was great to finally meet you, you guys rock! To the rest of my crazy friends, including Joely Joel and the party patrol, you know I love you and Friday Night/Saturday morning was yet another wonderful memory to add to our extensive collection!
