Since I got win2k I can't hear any sound any more. And why? Because the driver of my soundcard isn't compatible! So I searched for valid drivers for my soundcard. But there don't exist any drivers for this f*cking soundcard that are compatible with win2k or winNT! Now I'm sitting here in this deadly silence ... only my computer makes a humming noise. All mine mp3's, all the online-livesets ... all useless. No sound no life ... at least not for me! I'm feeling like a deaf person. Horrible! This silence here is awful.
Tomorrow I gotta buy a new sound card. One night to go. Aaah! Hope I won't get mad this night.
lolz, sorry i was reading your post and found it funny how you were venting and then it says "BTW: win2k rox!" lolz. i found that funny. anyway....don't you have any cds or a cd player?! i'd be surprised if you don't. so chill to that for now while you wait.

Well ... it's not soo dramatic like I said ... but yeah, no music on my comp. And CDs? Got no money for good ones (and in vienna there simply are no good ones) ... so I'm enjoying the silence.
And really ... win2k rox! It's sooo much better than this 98-shit
win 2k rocks all over the place.. my voodoo2 card doesn't work in it (or i'm just too lazy to get the drivers) but i don't play games much anymore so doesn't bother me..
what drives me nuts is no sound card at work!! but that's what cd players are for hehe..

Yep, I'll agree. But I'm having the same problem with my soundcard ever since I installed XP too. I can get sound but only when I plug my headphones into it...the speakers don't work.
Maybe I gotta tell u all, that I got such an old computer that's f*ckin' slow ... with winXP the speed would be even worse than now with win2k ... and it's really bad enough now!
That means: no winXP till I get a new computer. And it will take looong till I get a new one ... these things are sooo expensive and I ain't even got enough money for decent headphones!
And I'm really satisfied now with win2k ... I don't want XP and I personally don't need it...
