You are mistaken, like most people are. We have a great scene in Nashville with some of the best locals DJs/producers in the country. i just cant get by the stereotypical assumptions i have in my head. is it really a good scene?? i mean, i lived in kentucky for a time, and there was jack-shit nothing. been to tenn, to nashville, and i couldnt imagine it.

Many people vision Nashville is a hick town because of country music. I can understand that but what most people do not know is that Nashville is a music biz capitol for yes country but also for r+b, jazz, christian, pop, rap and rock.

Per capata (sp) Nashville, has more record companies, publishing houses, songwriters, recording studios, legal firms, accounting firms than any other city in the world. If you want to do anything with a Bettles or Michael Jackson song you have to deal with someone in Nashville and that holds true for many major pop and rock songs.

Aside from music, we have over 14 colleges and universities and of these 14 three are historic Black colleges and the only cites that match that are Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA. In addition, Nashville is one of the top cities in the country for heath care with HCA and medical research with Vanderbilt university.

All these things and more have made Nashville and its surrounding counties a mega for people seeking to better their lives and the offspring of this diversity are thousands of forward thinking people from many walks of life. This is a rare gem in the south and as a Brasilian American I’m proud to call Nashville home.
