Why has it not been good for albums this year?

Seems with all the big releases this year everyone would be going crazy about the albums... but they just haven't been up-to-par.

ASOT 2005... eh, it was alright I guess. I'm agreeing with the too much vocal thoughts on it though.

ISOS 4... need I say more?

Miami 05... kinda boring. Though it is Schulz. I generally only like him for remixing and producing. Not mixes.

Fundacion... I actually liked this, but many people don't. Admittedly though, he really didn't explore any new realms and change his sound. Same stuff from ADD, just this time done without vinyl.

Releases to come:

Anjuna Beats vol. 3... looks promising... except for the new Oceanlab. That sounds terrible

Politics of Dancing 2... only one I'm really looking forward too. Hopefully PvD doesn't let me down.

i'll agree with you krysta...and i think that the reason why those cd's that you mentioned haven't been doing that great is well...they really are just a new version of the last cd's in those series. i mean, nothing really new going on and even a lot of the tunes that are on the compilations are well played out before they made it onto the cd. i also like sasha's new cd...and even though it is also like a cd that's basically another version of involver...the tracks are new and fresh and its well done. i mean look at ASOT 2005 and ISOS 4...they are basically the most popular tracks from the last year or so for those dj's with a couple of new ones thrown in for good measure...nothing too spectacular...

Not sure on your comparison to ADD. Although I enjoyed Fundacion, it was nothing like ADD. ADD was an artist album, Fundacion is a mixed album. ADD left a lasting impression, unfortunately Fundacion did not.

agreed. Though you forgot Pole Folder - Zero Gold

Looking forward to Zab's Utilities double album, that should be good for sure.

All in all I'm pretty satisfied with 2005, although most of the albums I have enjoyed are progressive, not trance.

Guess my tastes are shifting, or I haven't heard any trance albums that "do it" for me.

PEACE
