check out a band called 8-bit Weapon. they rule. they actually use old gameboys and commadore 64s to make music.

do you mean the their signature square wave? i don't know what you mean by a sine effect...

Square waves are "in" right now.

I used to think that square waves often sounded very cheesy, but I like the way they are used in the example mp3 you posted.
