Rane MP & XP 2016 vs Xone 92
I'm about to buy a new mixer but i don't know which one to get. I mix all kinds of music disco house, prog, tribal, hip hop funk, and breaks. i'm getting really into house and breaks again. so i'm not sure which mixer to get. i can always cut it up with the cross fader on the rane mp 2016 instead of the rotary faders. the linear faders may come in handy when i mix funky breaks like krafty kuts. so can someone help me i need someone who has tried out both mixers.
If I was spending that amount of money on a mixer, I'd want to try it first. Pointless going on other people's opinions if it doesn't do what YOU want it to do.

The Rane is a beautifully sounding mixer with some of the smoothest EQs I have laid my hands on. If you do go with it, make sure to get the updated version which is the 2016a instead of the 2016. It has the ability to blend two channels in the headphones when cuing.
Personally, I would spend the money on the Xone:92. The features on it are outstanding, as are the build and sound qualities. Rotary faders are nice and smooth but I prefer sliders. I also don't need the Rane's 6 channels, and would prefer the famous 4 band EQs and filters on the Xone.
Being an owner of a Xone:32 I have fallen in love with Allen & Heath. I also really enjoy mixing on the Rane 2016 at the club I play at, but if I had the money, I would go for the 92.

honestly, I'm not really one to post something liek this, but this shit is getting annoying. If you searched the words "Rane + Xone" you would have pulled up about 20 useful threads, some with the same exact thread title as yours.

Can you hook that fliter unit up the same way you do with an efx-500 through the send returns or through the master out beteween the mixer and the amp?

Definately be able to hook it up to an effects unit.
Keep in mind that the Rane is a rack mount mixer. You can't lay it on its back like most mixers. So on top of the cost of the mixer you need to shell out some cash to mount it in some way.
Other than that the mixer is great. I'm assuming the A&H is too but I have never used it. If you want to download an example of how nice the Rane 2016 can sound, check out this WAV:
I copied this last night. The signal path is Clearaudio Emotion Turntable > Shure V15VxMR > 1 foot Mogami RCA > Rane 2016 MP > 3 foot Mogami XLR > M-Audio Firewire 410 > Bias Peak 4. The final audio I recorded was not retouched in any way.
