If you cut both the orange and the yellow wire instead of just the one the green led won't turn on anymore. You can also disassemble your pitch fader and take out the little bearing to remove the click.

If you look at your strobe it has a key that tells you at what pitch value the dots will remain stationary. Check your decks against the standard values. -3.3%, 0%, 3.3%, and 6%. Chances are that unless you just bought your deck new then the values will be off a little bit.

It really isn't that big of a deal unless your pitch fader is far off the mark or it drifts and you have trouble mixing when you know you shouldn't be having any trouble.

When the green 0 pitch light comes on should the 2nd dot be stationary even if the pitch is off? therefore u would have two zero's? or is the zero lock obsolette when your pitch fader is off? i think i need to recalibrate one of my techs, i always seem to have trouble on the same one!

Well, the zero will move on you after awhile, so you end up having a zero when the green light is on, and a zero somewhere on the pitch that isn't labeled zero, but is very close. That gives you two zeros. It is possible to disable the quartz lock circuitry to prevent this from happening.

any ideas how to disable this zero without any soldering, or is it required? cos it does give me trouble, i would rather recalibrate it though any sites where they show how to do it?
