Beginner Tracks?

Hey all,
I am just starting to get into "spinning." I have downloaded a piece of software called "Virtual Turntables" that was recommended to me by a friend who has been spinning for around 10 years. He said it would be a good way to get my feet wet before spending money on a DJ setup. My question is, no matter what genre of EDM, what are some good tracks to play around with just to get the fundamentals of DJing down? ie, what songs are relatively "easy" to transition in and out of, etc. Thanks in advance!

PS - I searched, found nothing

if u want tracks that r easier to mix get a load of hard trance its probably one of the easiest genres to mix most tracks dont have alot going on in them and have solid basslines making it easy to beatmatch aswell

yeah, just start off with 2 records with clear, solid drum beats - the simpler the better

My friend comes over and spins sometimes and I try to get him to use easy tracks with clear drum beats but he's a techno freak and always wants to learn with techno.

Two tracks I remember learning with were Solarstone - Solarcoaster (Midway Mix) and Cultivate - Broken Pieces (Dale Askew's Liberation Mix). They both have very distinct bass and are easy to match.

Get some songs by PVD, his tracks have some nice clear solid kicks to help you get the hang of it.

hard house is by far the easiest genre to leanrn to mix, get hold of any tracks from the hardbeat ep series on nukleuz (i think they went up to 24 or 25 different eps).

or actually anything by BK, nice simple beats, simple basslines etc good for learning to beatmatch

I luckily got Wadi and the dub in the same pack so i learned off of that, it's a really easy track. Another easy track I can think of would be PvD Crush.

^pvd - crush... maybe not the best advice. i'll set you straight.

you can find these right here in the download section
rapid eye - circa forever (re chilled mix)
kid vicious - proceed
gtr - mistral
sun decade - i'm alone (ronski speed mix)
second sun - empire (pvd tpod mix)

like everyone above me said, any trance with a simple, defined percussive line is really easy to mix with. three drives is great... a lot of PvD... darude.. just stay away from breaks.

heh, not so much that it's 134 bpm.. i just wouldn't suggest it cuz it's got that ambient intro before the kick comes in. just my 2 cents
