I find a lot that people will say they like a producers music under a specific alias more then another. Is the alias used depending on the style or sound of production that they make? For example, people tend to like a lot of Ferry Corstens productions under his Moon Man alias, it seems. Why?

Yeah, lots of time producers use different aliases to experiment with new sounds/styles ie: Gabriel & Dresden and Motorcycle.

Its also for legal reasons.
An artist may sign one alias' publishing or recording output to one company, so if he wants to put something else out, he just invents a new alias and there is no legal problem then
