ive been working on a simple minimalistic trance song today.. I was just wondering what you guys think of it, the main thing is the break, and the breakdown, climax.. and Id also like to know or the melody is maybe boring or not.. comments are very much appreciated!

Re: [ minimalistic ] Takkra - Velvet Jet 160kb/s 4:34 (sample)

the saw synths could do with some more filters: extended echoes with ping pong effect (to give it a wider & more spacious sound)

Like the pads. go well with the saw synths. some strings would be nice....

3.00 nice progression

3.16 very nice full sound.
5.55 beautiful

4.13 again, the saw effect needs more weight. maybe dual layering.

I love the tune when the 'thickness' hits at the 3.15 mark. When it came in I was pleasantly surprised. great chords, Very well done.

Look forward to the final peice! sounds to be a winner!

thanks man Im glad you think its good ,
just one thing.. almost every saw is already double layered..

bút, i wasnt really satisfied with them either so the "research" is still going on. I wont change the saws though cos I spent alot of time on them just the fx and stuff like that !

anyone else?

Hey man,

Nice intro you have here, feel it needs a little something else in maybe the first 40 seconds, can't put my finger on what just seems a bit dry to me.

Moves on very nicely from there though, builds up a good energy which I like very much. The breakdown is really good and the way it builds up to come out of it is awesome and as previously pointed out a very nice full sound too.

The melody is great, wouldn't change a thing there, definately wasn't boring for me.

Good work
