Plugin for measuring BPM

Does anyone know if there is a plugin for winamp that'll measure the BPM of MP3's?

tap tempo (featured in many programs) would be the best way to go.

if not, pick one; http://www.winamp.com/plugins/brows...ter=C&query=bpm

Just crop 16 bars on the audio track and adjust the BPM so it fits into 16 bars.

Two minutes work and if that isn't acurate enough try 32 bars.

If you are trying to sample anything other than electronic music and the BMP isn't constant. Mark each start of a bar on the audio track and audio-quantisize.

Hope this helps you do what you want to do.

Kind regards,

Nick

Music is as universal to people as breathing. We've probably been at it since before we even started talking. Immaging two cavemen smashing away at a peace of flint to make a spearhead. It wouldn't take long for them to learn te synchronise the sound. And there you have it, the words first percussive band.

Music has survived wars, famines, the plague and many other things and has evolved with man across many cultures. Dance music is just the next step in the evolutionary chain. My guess is that it will probably be with us untill we are extinced.

Here is a way to calculate the BPM :

1- With Cool Edit Pro or another program, cut EXACTLY 1 mesure of a song (4 kicks) and note the length (for example : 1.832s).

2- Apply the magic formula : 4 / (length / 60) = BPM

At the opposite (4 / BPM) * 60 = length of 1 mesure (4 kicks)

In the example 1.832s => 131.004 BPM

You get one fucking massive star for effort. You royally fucked up in the Significant Figures though. Your BPM should techincally be 131.0 It's mathematically impossible for your calculations to be accurate to the .004th beat. And they say the French developed the whole sig fig/SI units system.
