2001 has been a far better year for trance than 2000 but it would be hard to beat 1999.

i think they say it is a bad year because of what all the big djs are playing, sure we have plenty of artists making epic and euro trance, but how many big time djs play all of that anymore, not too many, take a look at the road dj tiesto, corsten, and armin took, they are all playing more progressive, tunes, and everyone is playing follow the leaders, i think it sucks
oh well

I'm sorry, but if you call 'Memory' an outstanding track, I really don't know what to think...
Of course, opinions differ, but I think most people will agree that the quality of this piece is nothing compared to Lange's previous productions like Fiji.

Also I want to say that liquidxxd is completely right!
It's not the fact that there's a shortage of epic/uplifting tunes, it's the fact that hardly any big-name DJ's play them anymore!..

If you go to see PvD or Tiesto you'll be very disappointed these days...

hahaha...it's funny. People want big names playing fresh good tracks, but they don't want them to be TOO sucessful...

jeeze! you people are weird. i think some of the best trance has been made in 2001, mainly cuz there are so many different types. I think trance was at one of the best times in 99, but it all sounded the same to me.
i think 2001 and 99 are equal in greatness, because both poured out QUALLITY tunes. isn't that what really matters?

I could have a possible answer for u...

Maybe you know the Future Trance CD-series. In former times they were really good ... you found tracks like Push - Universal Nation; PvD - For An Angel and many more really good tracks.
When you look at Future Trance now (for example vol. 15) you find tracks like Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky (commercial!); Balloon - Technorocker (crap!); Barthezz - On The Move (commercial!) and other commercial crap and so on ...

The people who say that trance is getting worse and worse maybe mean not the music itself! But it's a fact that manufacturers want to maximize the profit - and so trance is becoming more and more commercial. Well ... but the REAL trance that people here listen to will stay the same ... at least I hope so...
