i'm probably wrong, but to me it sounds like the leads inside the tonearm are shorting out. If that's the case the only thing i know to do is replace the tonearm assembly. But im most likely wrong and misunderstood your question b/c i'm going on 20hrs+ now. If it's just the contacts in the headshell mount, you can try to use isopropel alcohol and water w/ a q-tip to clean it.
