trying to figure out what EQ to buy

I've been looking at guitar center online, and i'm trying to decide on what kind of mixer to buy. I read some bad reviews about Numark TT-1650 so I don't want that, something not too much more expensive tho. As for my decks I dunno what to get either, numark TT-200's don't sound to shabby.

Your post was a little confusing, do you need turntables, mixer, rackmount eq???

I'll give you a quick list of good stuff that's a good value for the money.

turntables: sl-1200mk5, $399 @ bestbuy.com (get em pricematched at gc, they keep their value so if you don't like spinning or if you sell them in 10 years the value will remain close to the same. They also last forever, i have a friend that owned his pair since the mid 80s and they work just as good as my newest one that's less than one year old)
Mixer: Dn-x100 $180 (pricematch online)
carts: Stanton 500al2 $25-$30 (cheap, durable, reliable, good to start with)
EQ: you don't need one, the mixer will do just fine.
Records: believe me, If you think equipment is expenisve, records, cds, etc will easily surpass any amount you spend on equipment.

You mentionned EQ in the thread title which means Equalization.

Now you're talking about turntables.

First off you'll have to mention what type of budget you have.

You may want to get some higher end Numarks ( TT1 ) or the common technics

Use the search function there's a lot of threads on the subject.

sorry if my post was confusing, so heres my translation. I'm a poor college student with not much money and in between jobs. So technics are basically out of the question for me. I'd like to spend 400-500$ total on my set because thats all I can really afford. I just need to know what would be the best things to buy in that range, thanks.

Find used sl-1200mk2s for around $200.

Ifnot, the tt200 is suppose to be good for the $$$, as for mixer, the old gemini umx series were also good. Along w/ tascam xs-8s for $150 (but were discoutinued thus why it was that cheap)
