I apologize if there's already a thread for this. Was wondering if anyone is going to see Hybrid @ Amphitheater this Friday? I've seen them once last year there and they rocked the house!!! I might go see em again.

Didn't know about Hybrid
But now that someone is recommending, i might go.
See you there.
TranceVanDyk - I doubt if you'll have to shell out $20 if you go a little early. Better still, get into the guest list.

Hybrid = badass, good fucking trancebreaks!! they've gotta come to Miami.
Amps certainly didn't advertise much for this fantastic event. DJ Monk, DJ C-Speed (I hope it's C-Speed - The beautiful slim and sexy DJ) and DJ Hybrid took turns at the centrestage.
Monk was a bit of a disappointment but it was okay since he was the first one to be on the turntable and the crowd hadn't filled in yet. I don't know but he seems to be playing more and more trashy stuff (Hallucinations - Eh?). And Amps was literally empty untill 12:00!
But that was the only disappointing part of the night and ended at around 12:00. DJ C-Speed (Why do i have the feeling that i keep getting her name wrong) really rocked. She set the tempo for the night. Not trance stuff but definitely high energy dance music whose variation kept people filling the dance floor and busy as well. She ended on a high note and i'd give her thumbs up. The only blemish was, she was spinning CDs and i for one don't like DJs who don't spin vinyls.
DJ Hybrid certainly took on from where she left. He switched from good to Ok to well, average if not trash to excellent and so did keep people guessing as to what's next. He shared the same blemish - spinning CDs.
Amps was really filled out for the most part of the night - something that i haven't seen on friday nights for a long time.
And yes, there were no guest lists for the night. Everyone had to shell out $20. Which is okay considering that those DJs have to make a living as well and 3 well-known DJs in one night does call for some cover. In any case, even though i rarely have to pay any cover at the Amps, i am not against cover-charges.
Those who couldn't make it really did miss some fun.

Its K-Swing and her set was much better than Hybrids and she was spinning cd's and vinyl but more cd's.. check out her website for downloadable mixsets...very nice girl..talked to her for quite awhile.
Monk's set for once wasn't hard house so it was a bit refreshing..too many breaks covers of pop tracks in his set.
Hybrids(yes they are a duo not one person) set was okay..not great by any means, not energetic, and then near the end of the set they had laid 2 cdr's of their new productions that they were going to play on the table behind the decks and after 2 tracks they turned around to grab one of the discs and both were missing...really shitty.Way too many people behind the booth. But my review of hybrid is they will always be better producers than djs.
AND YES D.A. iT IS ALL ABOUT FINISHED SYMPHONY(turns on SSX TRICKY)

It's K-Swing alright
Thanks Slackerboy. I kept telling myself "C-Speed" just doesn't sound right . It must be the hangover, damnnit. On an afterthought, she might like the new name for herself . C-Speed!
I really don't understand the concept of standing behind the DJ on the centre-stage and crowding his set. The best compliment you can give to a DJ is not by shaking his hand and telling hom how big a fan you are of his (while he is busy with his set), but by flocking to the dancefloor and grooving out. It sucked to see so many people just STANDING behind the DJ-Booth whole night.
I have no clue of what monk played, but it was far from anything interesting.
