Love Poundin' Sensation Why I Love My JP-8080...

Well i decided to program some patches on my jp tonight for a while and i just really really fell in love with this thing. For a while i was hooked on using the Novation V-Station and dont get me wrong, its a great synth but.. in all honesty.. software just cant compare to the real deal.

Save Target As: Super Saw I Programmed - Melody: (The Mystery - Feel 4 You)

Now.. yeah i know its just a supersaw lead.. but i only used 1 OSCILLATOR! What software can do that? Cause i really just dont think its possible ***AT THIS TIME*** for a vst to be able to do something like that.

Well anyway i may write up a tutorial for the preset i made if anyone is interested let me know in here all ill write it up.

~Rb2k1

p.s. dont get me wrong vst's are still great and i use them in all my productions but im just expressing my love for hardware haha.

it's great for only one osc! but really, you can do better sounds with software (but more oscs needed)

My point was that i got that sound out of 1 osc.

If i really wanted to program something.. i have 2 oscs and i have a lower and upper patch, then i can set performance and use another 2 patches each with their upper and lower combining all the sounds together to make something.. now that would be crazyyyyy...

but anyway im not trying to say software sucks... im just saying if i can get that from 1 osc.. what can i get from using the JP to its max ????

BUT PLEASE I DONT WANT A WAR IN MY TOPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hahaha

There's no unison needed as it are allready 7 saw's in detune
This sound just doesn't seem to die in trance..
9 out of 10 uplifting songs use it or an emulation.

Yeah, supersaw waveform is 7 oscillators running together, not just a hectic saw wave. Try changing the waveform to a simple saw and see what that sounds like. the major benefit is polyphony. It's like the virus, one oscillator doesn't sound that great but some of my patches run well over 20 oscillators.

In all honesty that sound isn't hard to get on any synth really. The fact that you used only one osc (which is actually seven saw waves) doesn't really matter when it comes down to sound.

Any powerful synth that can run 7 or more saws in unison, detune them, and add frequency modulation can achieve that sound.

Not to say that it isn't a good sound, though a little cheesy.
