Said goodbye to my vinyl today
I just left for san francisco and unfortunately i had no funds to send my records. So now i am without vinyl it sucks I got the equipment here but no vinyl. I am gonna buying lots of vinyl now to make up for my loss. All the kids in my whole dormatory are like where and stuff. I earned the rep as the schools dj.

you could have at least chosen 1 record bag full and brought those with you.

LMFAO!!!! Are you telling me that you had enough room for all your gear, but no extra room for any of the records so you just left them all?? Now you're going to replace your whole collection which is going to cost alot more than shipping them would have just because you didn't have enough money to ship them originally. This makes perfect financial sense....
EDIT- Yes, I guess you if you had a massive collection of vinyl or you were moving overseas it would make a bit more sense, but I dunno it still doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Well it could really depend on the size of the collection.
I personally left around 200 records back in the US when I had to move back to France .... you have any clue how much of a hassle and cost it would be to send them over?
I know over the years I'll progressively bring them back in lots but for now no I wasn't able to do it AT ALL.

Shipping via sea take months, but is cheap.
No excuses
if i ever move to the states as I may do one day.....the whole lot is coming with me- studio eqpt, records- the lot. Will cost me a fortune but i dont care.

When I moved from Dallas to Pennsylvania I had intentions of taking my vinyl with me. (I drove up first before the movers delivered my furniture) By the time I packed my car with the necessities and half my gear (CDJ's, mixer, monitors), I had no room for the vinyl or turntables. Instead, it had to ship with the rest of my furniture, meaning that it was in the hands of the moving company for about 10 days. Being that it was in the middle of summer, i was more than a *bit* nervous about my records being in the back of a semi-trailer for an extended period. They made it fine but, I was nervous the whole time.
