Number stations still do exist. Back in February of this year, a pal of mine and I used a website that allows you to personally control a handful of different receivers (located in different places around the world) over the internet and tune them into shortwave/mediumwave/longwave radio frequencies of your choosing. We actually tracked a few number stations, and I've personally recorded some of them. The audio from the receiver is streamed to you over the internet, however the quality is not that good. Basically you have to scan all frequencies until you find a number station broadcast because after every broadcast the station moves to a different frequency. There are a few websites, like this one that provide data about which frequencies a certain station uses at certain hours of the day during a certain day of the week.

I've successfully recorded what I believe to be the "V2a" and "m8" stations which are operating out of Cuba according to the website I which gave a link to above.

This first one contains clips from two different "V2a" broadcasts on the same day on different frequencies. We usually managed to finally find the right frequency about 15 minutes after the broadcast started. The second clip starts at around the 2:20 mark. Both of these clips are the end portion of the number sequence where it finally ends and just fades out to static/noise.

This second one contains clips from two different "m8" broadcasts on the same day at different frequencies. The first clip is from somewhere in the middle of the broadcast. The second clip starts at around the 2:20 mark, and shows how the morse code sequence ends.

If you were to set up your own receiver, or if you've already got one set up, I'm fairly positive that you'll be able to find these stations again and maybe even some other number stations if given enough time. The sound quality would also be a lot better.
