This is as far from cheese that I can imagine!!! The last 4 songs were dark and scary And that's not my style at all, hehe! A good set though... I missed some happy tunes - cuz everything was so sad and dark...

I'm downloading now because of the 'cheese' comment and looking at the tracklisting I can't see how this could be that cheesey. The Lemon 8 mix of 'Cages' is a quality tune and not at all cheesey so I'll let you know when I've had a proper listen.

this ain't cheese at all.

and maybe you should just give a little bit more respect to someone that created a mix.

maybe it's not your kind of music, but how can you judge someones creative work just by looking at the tracklist.

how would you feel if you created a mix, put it online and the first comment is something like you wrote from someone who doesn't even listened to the mix.

any1 who put his mix online should get respect for his work instead of getting bashed.

and, if you wanna critizise someone, listen to his mix and judge it afterwards. and maybe not by the tracks he used but the flow of the mix, his mixing skills and so on...

Wise words Rockabye, but how do you know that coded audio hasn't listened? And if you're referring to me you misread because I wasn't judging until listening, which is now...

Ok I'm almost through a full listen and it isn't my kind of music any more so I won't be listening again. I've got a few comments and they're meant to be constructive. Above all, remember that this is just my opinion so don't take it personally.

Firstly, I'm going to have to agree that some of the tunes are a little bit cheesey and deifnitely in the flavour of 'generic trance'. The first tune is quite nice but the transition into the next isn't too good and the majority of the first 8 tracks are quite cheesey/happy sounding. For my ears at least. I think you speeded up Cages way too much, I prefer it as a more downtempo prog track but that is just my opinion.

I do like some of the tunes in here, I used to love Sun Decade - I'm Alone. I'm really glad you put the non vocal Ronski mix in as the vocal is plain awful and kills a great track. Unfortunately I think that there is too much of this uplifting, happy trance so it gets a little samey.

Then we come to the Sander Van Doorn tracks. Not my cup of tea but definitely a bit different, much more intense and at least I'd not heard them before. It's a bit of a drastic change from the fanny trance to the pounding SVD tracks! Perhaps you could have eased into that style more gradually?

The mixing is by and large a bit too sudden for my liking, I'm a fan of very gradual transitions of 2 minutes or more but again that is simply my style. I don't think I'm Alone goes well into Emotinal Void because it sounds like there is a key clash, you do try and cover it up quite well though. Some of your volume levels seem slightly out as well, but nothing major.

All in all, this mix doesn't offend me or anything but it could be a lot better. There are some nice tunes in here but I don't think that as a whole they form a great listening experience.

I hope that is of some use to you and if you completely disagree with it then I don't mind at all!

Take it easy

Mike
