meh.. thats a pretty extremist point of view...

i think youll find it actually wont play out like that.. but we'll most likely have oil til 2100... the stimate of 50 years is very conservative..

Thumbs up

They've been saying this for ages but we still got plenty left. Innovation in technology will keep the oil coming. And when we do run out, fusion will be in play and we'll have reliable safe energy.

irrelevant. Fusion and Nuclear powerplants are going to take over before that. I wouldn't mind a hydrogen car either.

Currently a hudrogen car uses more oil than a regular car because of the amount of energy needed to get the hydrogen. And if they energy needed was coming from a natural source (ie. wind or solar) its still diverting the power from other things costing oil, not to mention you probably need oil to manufacture the hydrogen car, the solar panels AND the windmills.

not irrelevant yet.

Capitalism.

When it starts to cost $120 for soccer mom's to fill up their SUV's, people will seek alternatives. Necessity is the mother of invention. Imagine how fucking rich the guy will be who patents the next major energy source while gas is hitting $5 or 6 a gallon?
