Programs to erase vocals from tracks or extract?
Does anyone know any fairly common programs that can be used to remove the vocals from a track so that the instrumental version can be heard and vice versa, is there a program that allows someone to remove all the music/effects from a track so that only the vocals are left without any music being played? I would like to make some mash-ups but I'm very new to this.
If less is more think about how much more more would be.

EQing and Gating, that's the only way. It is impossible to do this automatically, so you just gonna have to sit down with the tune and think it through.
read, read, read though its still impossible ats there be capellas for every tune in existance

hey hey hey im new I'm sorry. Just as a question, how do DJs like Armin van Buuren make mashups like As the Rush Comes to Amazon or Zocalo vs Fix You. I can't hear the original melodies from the songs that the vocals came from.
